Sensi Seeds

Sensi Seeds has the goal of normalizing cannabis use and recognizing the therapeutic and industrial benefits of the plant. This company is considered one of the pioneers of the cannabis industry, as it was formed in 1985. Ben Dronkers is the company’s founder. Dronkers later founded its museum and sister company. Today, Sensi Seeds holds claim to being the biggest cannabis seed bank in the world, as it has more than 500 varieties. Sensi Seeds is located in Amsterdam, and it has worked with the Dutch government, which chose the company to be the developer of medical cannabis that pharmacies supply.

As part of its efforts to normalize cannabis, Sensi Seeds opened the first marijuana museum in the world, called the Hash Marihuana & Hemp Museum, in 1985. Today, the museum has two locations, one in Amsterdam and one in Barcelona, and has had more than two million visitors. Sensi Seeds, along with its museum, hosts the famous Cannabis Culture Awards, which celebrates people who promote cannabis acceptance.

Sensi Seeds also has a sister company, HempFlax, which it launched in 1993. Via this sister company, it developed purpose-built equipment for cultivating hemp as well as new processing methods, innovations which are now industry standard.
