OG Kush
HybridTHC 28–28%
Probably the most popular west coast cannabis strain in existence, the legendary sativa-dominant cannabis strain OG Kush was allegedly created when Hindu Kush and Chemdawg were combined. OG Kush's effects are notoriously euphoric, inducing a tingly, stimulating body buzz and a giggly head high that are unmatched in just about any other strain. The potency of OG Kush buds has reached as high as 28% THC, which makes this strain overwhelming for new cannabis users, or those with a low tolerance. Flowers of this strain are gorgeous, each purple and emerald green calyx encased in a shimmering halo of trichomes and tangled orange pistils. As most cannabis lovers know, OG Kush has a distinct piney aroma and a surprisingly pleasant sweet pine flavor.
Trainwreck
HybridTrainwreck is a well-known sativa-dominant cannabis strain that is said to blend genetics from Thai, Mexican, and Afghani cannabis strains. Wafting from Trainwreck's fluffy flowers is a musky, earthy scent of pine, and once this cannabis strain is smoked you're likely to note that it takes on a citrus fruit flavor. The buds themselves are a saturated tree green hue, which is accented by patches of glistening trichomes tucked between chunky calyxes and golden pistils. Fans of Trainwreck tend to find Trainwreck's high to be superbly creative, euphoric, and physically somewhat relaxing.
Durban Poison
SativaTHC 17–27%
Hailing from Durban, South Africa, this purebred sativa strain has been making waves for decades due to its high potency and severely stimulating head effect. One of the most interesting facets of Durban Poison is its potency in THCV, a psychoactive cannabinoid that suppresses hunger and gives its user a burst of energy. This strain's dense, sticky buds give off a fragrance of sweet grapes, citrus, and earth and generally have about 17-27% THC. Durban Poison provides its patient with a particularly stimulating cerebral hit, motivating its user through the focused energy it provides while simultaneously dissolving all traces of pain.
Strawberry Cheesecake
HybridStrawberry Cheesecake is a heavily indica-dominant cannabis hybrid that is composed of genetics from the famous strains Cheese, Chronic, and White Widow. This cannabis strain is said to produce a relaxing physical high and simultaneously a thoroughly focused, creative, and euphoric buzz that makes this strain versatile enough for daytime medication. Strawberry Cheesecake's flowers are quite naturally beautiful, as their dense, bulbous forest green calyxes are each decorated with thick tangerine pistils and a sparkling halo of translucent trichomes. As you are likely to have guessed, this strain's flavor is reminiscent of a delicious strawberry cheesecake, and the cheesy, sweet scent that this strain produces is similarly tantalizing.
Blueberry Muffins
HybridTHC 20–22%
An indica-dominant bud that smells just like a blueberry muffin, this delectable strain is a combination of Blueberry and Purple Panty Dropper. The parent strain of Blueberry is among the most popular strains, and it has been for over a decade. Meanwhile, the parent strain of Blueberry, Afghani, makes it a favorite among growers due to its heartiness that allows it to thrive in nearly all conditions. Blueberry Muffin also features a smaller amount of genetic material from Purple Panty Dropper, which is known for gene stability that leads to an impressive bud structure. Humboldt Seed Co. created Blueberry Muffin by combining the two, delivering a strain with the best features of both in a sativa-leaning strain containing 30 percent indica and 70 percent sativa. Blueberry Muffins typically has a THC content of between 20 and 22 percent. Each gorgeous purple bud of Blueberry Muffins is coated in a thick layer of crystalline trichomes and dotted with light orange colored pistils. Using this strain produces a relaxing and sedative state that travels from the mind throughout the entire body, warming you inside and out. The sedating properties of Blueberry Muffin come from its Blueberry genes, while the energizing effects come from the Purple Panty Dropper. The biggest effect of smoking Blueberry Muffin is relaxation, with euphoria and happiness also being very common. It is also relatively regular to experience a feeling of being uplifted and some hunger. Most report that euphoria and uplifted emotions begin within just minutes. Even those around users can typically notice the change in the smokers right away, as Blueberry Muffin is so good at improving mood. One or two hours after consuming Blueberry Muffin, you will notice an intensification of a light pressing buzz by the temples. This is when the face will relax, starting at the forehead and working its way down the body. This will lead to a feeling of relaxation and comfort throughout the body. Patients may find that this strain relieves symptoms of chronic pain conditions, nausea, depression, anxiety, and insomnia. Blueberry muffin is also very popular for easing stress, via its ability to encourage happy thoughts and boost the mood. Keep in mind that dry mouth is a common side effect of using Blueberry Muffin. It is also possible to experience dry eyes. Rare but possible effects include anxiety, headaches, and dizziness. As the name implies, Blueberry Muffin features a terpene profile that gives off the flavor of blueberries. Much of this flavor comes from its Blueberry lineage, but Purple Panty Dropper also enhances the fruity flavors. Other flavors include creaminess, berries, fruit, and earthiness. Expect the blueberry and creamy tastes on the inhale and the earthiness on the exhale. The aroma of the cannabis strain matches these flavors. The scent is incredibly reminiscent of fresh-baked blueberry muffins, but with an earthy component mixed in. Upon combustion, it becomes a creamy smoke. Those who plan to grow Blueberry Muffin should know that it typically flowers inside for between six and eight weeks. Expect 12 to 16 ounces for every square meter indoors. When grown outdoors, it typically flowers from the middle of September to early October. Expect 16 ounces or more for each plant when grown outdoors. It does best with a Mediterranean climate. Blueberry Muffin is a good choice to smoke any time of the day. During the day, it will awaken the senses with its invigorating head high. When you come down, however, it can induce sleepiness, assuming you dose it correctly.
