Chocolate Thai is a legendary landrace strain that, you guessed it, comes from Thailand. In the mid-1960s, this strain was sold tied to sticks of bamboo and was considered to be one of the strongest strains available at the time. Chocolate Thai plants produce long, thin colas with a fluffy bud structure, and each produces an earthy, piney aroma and taste somewhat like chocolate coffee. Patients note that this strain is particularly good for relieving physical pain, and has a sociable and laughter-inducing cerebral effect. Although the Chocolate Thai we have today likely differs somewhat from the version available in the 1960s, this bud continues to be one of the foundational sativa strains of cannabis.
