About Quimby
Legendary breeder DJ Short's son, JD, acquired this indica-dominant strain as a clone around the early 2000s (2003-2004). Although its genetic background is a mystery, it resembles an old school Afghan indica with its short, stout and bushy appearance.
Quimby gets its name from beloved Simpson's Springfield mayor, Joseph Fitzgerald O'Malley Fitzpatrick O'Donnell The Edge "Joe" Quimby aka Diamond Joe.
If you're lucky enough to find and grow a cut of this strain, she will give off an incredibly potent ammonia during the flowering stage, but upon harvesting and curing (which is around 50-60 days), you will notice the buds smell of Fruity Pebbles or Jolly Rancher candy. Although this strain doesn't produce as much flower as other typical indicas, it more than makes up for it in resin production.
Quimby has a strong couch-lock effect that will be perfect for a night in binge-watching The Simpsons -- just make sure your cupboard is stocked with delicious munchies.
